Frequently Asked Questions

What if I'm locked into a contract with your competitor?

Because some of our competitors rates are so high, it still pays you to use our system instead. Even by leaving your existing system idle, you'll still save money!
We'd really like you to benefit from using our system (the sooner the better). Let us have a look at your contract and we'll give you a proposal to save you money.

So what's wrong with a phone-based intercom?

The main problem with a phone-based intercom system is that there is very little accountability. The resident is either directly allowing someone to come in (in which case we have a situation where your security is as good as the "weakest link". i.e. you could have a resident allowing access to an unknown person, especially if the resident is generally blase about security); or
a security guard is speaking on behalf of a visitor to the resident and the resident "grants" access with a verbal acknowledgement. Similar to the above-mentioned problem, plus you have the added problem of "he said she said" should an incident arise!

So let's consider the pro's and cons:

Pro's:
  1. Cheap!
Cons:
  1. No accountability = little / no security!
  2. Children, domestics, and even other visitors are able to grant access!
Conslusion:

There'd be very little point in having a security system of this nature. Moreover, it's arguably more dangerous to have such a system as it only gives residents a (false) sense of security.

In contrast, the Secsyst system records all entries granted by residents and logs certain traceable information (cell phone number, id number, etc.)
